Jack & Harry’s to Introduce a New Orleans-Inspired Chophouse in Snider Plaza This Year

The latest concept from Vandelay Hospitality Group opens this October in Dallas’ Park Cities

Vandelay Hospitality Group unveils its latest concept, Jack & Harry’s, a new dinner-forward restaurant and bar to open at 6844 Snider Plaza in the heart of the Park Cities this October. The 23rd restaurant from VHG will blend Southern charm—inspired by New Orleans with a dash of the South Carolina low country. This concept pairs laid-back French-infused recipes with broiled steaks and Southern coastal favorites.

The club-like interior within the 5,000-square-foot space transports guests to a place with an intimate scale, rich in detail, and layered in history as the building it occupies dates back to 1945. Lacquered wood floors are paired with warm cherrywood paneling, imported New Orleans brick, and accented with antique Charleston lanterns and aged brass, lending homage to a bygone era of Southern hospitality. The space is layered with iconic equestrian artwork and expertly sourced antique furniture.

The culinary program at Jack & Harry’s, described by chef James Douglas as “a place for a weeknight steak or an elegant family meal,” is anchored by a wide yet approachable selection of prime and dry-aged steaks. This unique-to-Dallas menu features spins on the classic steakhouse “filet dinner”—best represented by the French Onion Filet and Napoleon Filet Mignon Dinner topped with seared foie gras, the “Johnny’s Special Ribeye Steak” and a Broiled Veal Chop topped with oysters; plus a staple, limited availability “Harry’s De Luxe Steak Dinner,” featuring roasted USDA Prime Rib served with horseradish cream and rosemary au jus. Quintessential low country items such as Blue Crab Gumbo, Steak Tartare, and Oysters St. Claude serve as starters; while Snapper and Grouper dishes, offered pan-fried or broiled, and Sautéed Flounder round out the menu. Accompaniments include Carolina Coleslaw, Sweet & Sour Collard Greens, and Paprika Hush Puppies.

The bar at Jack & Harry’s is a warm and intimate space with turn-of-the-century character. Designed for people to casually enjoy cocktails and a French-forward wine list in a Jazzy atmosphere Monday through Sunday. Vandelay owner Hunter Pond states, “we put this restaurant adjacent to our new company headquarters for a reason; this concept is a huge passion project for us—especially the wine list.”

Jack & Harry’s is the sixth in a succession of restaurant openings by VHG in 2023, most recently following wildly popular Anchor Sushi Bar. Jack & Harry’s is the third concept VHG has announced that will open in Snider Plaza, with New York City import, Bar Sardine, and the airy Italian Montecito’s concept opening in 2024, developing Snider Plaza into a well anchored culinary area in Dallas. With Jack &Harry’s, Bar Sardine, Montecito’s, and yet-to-be-announced future concepts planned for the shopping center, VHG’s goal is for Snider Plaza to be a culinary epicenter in the heart of the Park Cities.
